MOHELA, a federal student loan servicer, is looking for passionate and skillful Loan Servicing Specialists in our Chesterfield Headquarters.  The Specialists are responsible for the proper maintenance of borrower accounts through the processing and completion of assigned correspondence and applications received from borrowers. The Specialist is also responsible for proper documentation and response in order to ensure the timely and accurate transition of a loan into repayment status, by the use of various internally and externally produced reports. The Specialists research and analyze accounts via reports, queues, and correspondence for all loan programs serviced in the Loan Servicing Department, in order to take the appropriate action to change/maintain all applicable account information based on guidelines and procedures.

Starting salary is $13.81/hr.  Comprehensive training will be approximately 8 weeks long from 8am-5pm Monday through Fridays.  Hired candidates must be able to attend training every day.

Additional Incentives:
  • Earn $1,000 within 60-90 days, plus an additional $100/biweekly for opting-out of MOHELA’s medical plan. (must show proof of being insured by another group medical plan).

The requirements include:
• Must not currently have defaulted federal student loans or defaulted loans that are guaranteed by the federal government. Definition of default is the failure to repay a federal loan according to the terms agreed to in the promissory note. For most federal student loans, you are considered in default if you have not made a payment in more than 270 days when required to do so.
• Availability to work 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday
• 12 months experience in a high volume office setting, where accurate data entry was crucial
• Ability to understand and apply complex regulations
• A stable work history with an excellent attendance and dependability record
• Capability to exceed challenging expectations
• Solid data entry skills
• Must possess computer skills, including a familiarity with Windows based systems, Outlook and at least data entry skills at 30+ WPM with accuracy
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. College coursework preferred.

You must be able to obtain an appropriate public trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions.
